My hosts were indeed amazing. Candida, who is a great cook, made food that fit my dietary preferences. They were available to chat as much as I wished, and it was definitely a great advantage that they don’t speak English. Candida and Jose were attentive, accommodating, warm, and caring. Their children and grandchildren, who visited a few times, were also lovely.
The location was great — a Mexican neighborhood with few anglophones, yet a short walk to El Jardin. Nice cafes nearby.
